Congratulations to the Theatre Club!!!
Congratulations to our own Theatre Club for winning the Freddie G Outstanding Production award at the 2015 Junior Theater Festival this past weekend in Atlanta, Georgia!
In addition, Mr. Ryan Olsen was one of seven teachers selected for the Freddie G Fellowship.
Students Aaron Wang and Caroline Leung were named to the Junior Theater Festival All-Stars, which is made up of two outstanding performers from each group attending the festival. The All-Stars performed a song during the closing ceremony for all 4,500 festival attendees.
On January 14-16, 2015, about twenty-five 4th grade students, chosen by their essays, had the opportunity to go on a three-day field trip with our science teachers, Mr. Dionet and Ms. Wong. The trip was sponsored by Operation Explore, whose goals were to help students:
- Acquire a lifelong appreciation of the natural environment.
- Understand the interdependence of all living things.
- Recognize their roles as stewards of the land, air, and water locally and globally.
- Develop problem-solving skills and greater self - confidence.
Dress Appropriately for the Weather
Please have your child is dressed appropriately for the cold and make sure the head and hands are covered. The students will have outdoor lunch recess, unless it is raining or snowing, or if there is ice on the playground.
New York City Department of Education policy and New York City Department of Health have provided guidelines to schools regarding outdoor play in cold weather.
“Children benefit from vigorous exercise and should be given the opportunity to play outside whenever possible. Unless it is snowing or there is ice on the playground, low temperatures should not be a barrier to outside play, as long as children are appropriately dressed. The Health Department strongly encourages principals to maintain outdoor play periods on the vast majority of winter days.”
Please Keep the Main Entrance Clear!
Please do not congregate in front of the Main Doors
when dropping off children in the morning.
